Rear Vents Question
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if it's best to leave the rear vents open all the time or to close them when nobody is in the back? I know that with them closed the AC blows stronger in the front, but I wonder if the entire car will cool better with more air being projected in the back?

I have had my 2023 CX-5 for less than eight weeks, and no one will likely ever sit in the back seats. Until you mentioned this, I never gave the vents a thought. I suspect they are open and will just leave them that way.
To give you a definitive answer would require an engineering study on the interior CF air space volume, amount of volume of air circulation and relative temperatures.
Obviously, no one is going to go to those lengths
But heat and cooling are similar wherever it takes place, the closer to the source the faster and more direct you will feel it.
If you set in front of a stove or AC in your house, you will notice the temp faster than the person setting behind you and it will take longer for the rest of your house to be the same temperature.
A vehicle is no different except I believe the temp sensors are in the dash and are not centralized.
If no one rides in back, I would, shut off the rear vents, unless you have that cooler in cargo area full of beer and don't want to stop for more ice
