New Map Update - Feb 2021
FYI: A new map update is available in case you are still in the 3-year window: https://infotainment.mazdahandsfree....language=en-US
|
Just Updated my '19 GTR yesterday.
|
Ia it also available for a 2021 CX-30? When I go to the site you mentioned it is not there.
|
You have to use Mazda Toolbox and SD Card from your car with a PC.

Turns out our 3-year map subscription ended on January 28, 2021. Mazda is selling a single map update for $85 or a 3-year subscription for $135. It is a bit over-prized but I am aware that there are cheaper options on Amazon or eBay. Also, my latest update was in September 2020, so at this time I will not update at all. I am sticking to Google maps most of the time anyways.

On the other hand, if your Mazda never had Nav (like my MX-5) and you buy a Nav card (Amazon in my case), that card can be updated 3 times in the 3 year period. YMMV |
i know that you can buy an Mazda maps sd card online on Amazon but the issue is when you put the sd card in your car it will still register your vin number i think and it will still expire at the same time.. there has to be a work around somewhere

$85.00 for 3 years is a Bargain, just buy it!

From what is being reported by folks on the Miata forum, if you've had a previous 3 year subscription that has expired, your only option for updates on the Mazda Nav system is to buy the offered single map update for $85 or a 3-year subscription for $135 from Mazda directly. If you buy a new Nav SD card for your system (eBay/Amazon, whatever), expecting that you'll now be able to get three free/included updates, you're going to be very disappointed. That new card will not update. It's all about the car's VIN. The Mazda system knows what you're up to and it will not allow it to happen.

I tried updating my map using toolbox 2021 CX-5 its currently on November 2020 map, it says no updates available as if its the latest. Why can I not update to Feb 2021? It says my subscription expires 2024.

is it a real card from a dealer or fake version from eBay/Amazon etc. I have the same issue with the latter

Mine's from eBay, however, I am not sure what you mean by "fake"? It is OEM from a car that was never activated. Otherwise, I wouldn't have the system showing the card expires in 2024 within the Toolbox. I may be wrong, but that is the information I have showing. What day does yours show as expiring?
I just think there must be code to know that it is a copy And not authentically sold by Mazda |

Is there a way to check which map version I’m on?
|
Anyone know how to check map version?
is version name the same as map version? Or, version is the version of the toolbox? |
The only way that I've found to check the map version on the card is to use Mazda Toolbox.
|
How and where in the app? The info where it says version: month year?
if so, that can’t be it because a user said there is no such thing as a November 2020 update so perhaps that’s the version of the app? let’s try and get more data points, if yours is updated to the latest, could you tell me what version you see in your toolbox and what car and year you drive? if you have a picture of where your looking that would be great |

I know that the Mazda Toolbox has been updated since I used it to update a card so maybe this has changed. |

The Nav subscription in my CX has expired so that info wouldn't do you any good. I still have two more updates available on the subscription in my MX. When I do that update I'll report back here and let you know.

Check with your Dealer for the latest Update. I would have to take the SD Card from my car, etc. to check version. It did Update my car.
|
The dealer told me i need to call corporate, corporate told me I need to call handsfree blue tooth support, handsfree Bluetooth support told me to call dealer, and the cycle repeats.
0 support for 2021 |

0 support for 2021 If you would like to update your maps you'll have to have the Mazda Toolbox installed on your computer and you'll also have to have a SD card reader/writer on the computer. Go here and enter the requested info. Mazda Connect (mazdahandsfree.com) After you entered the info on your CX look near the top of the screen and click on the Navigation link. Then near the bottom of the screen you'll find Update My Maps and a link Learn More, click that. Now you'll see the button to download the Mazda Toolbox and over on the right side you'll see the button for instructions. |

Why would I check with my dealer? The system is designed so that the end user takes care of the updates on their own. The dealer is not involved and will tell you the same.

You mentioned TomTom, is your CX a 2015 or older? The newer models don't use TomTom |
CX-5 2021 brand new
Handsfree Mazda said to call TomTom and Here to get support hence why I called them. Mazda is kind of incompetent and inexistent when it comes to servicing issues on brand new technology. May have to take it further to public since no one is competent anywhere with Mazda specifically. Some dont even know that 2021 exists. |
Also, Here confirmed its TomTom and TomTom confirmed its Mazda Dealer. lol I have written evidence from all parties.

Last time I updated, I checked the box which promised to alert me for the next update. Still, I did not receive notice of this most recent update.

I am not updating past the 3-year subscription since I am using Google maps all the time now. I have a magnetic vent mount and it is very convenient.
