Default NEW for 2020 GT Reserve & Signature??

I have a 2019 GT Reserve and love it.
Seems the only thing I can find that is truly new for these top two models is an 8" screen.
I have heard that for 2020 those top 2 models have paddle shifters and front and rear anti-sway bars as well as an advertised increase in torque up from 310 to??

So, what is the real story?

Per the Mazda USA web site, the new torque number is 320 on one page and 310 on another. In the end, not much of a change.

Thanks for the torque info. I figured it was only a small bump.

I've found I can up the power by using 75% 91 octane gas and 25% 100 octane gas. Out here in Nevada (actually west of the Mississippi) 91 octane is the standard for "premium" gas, not the 93 octane found back east. Bummer. I estimate I'm getting around 95 octane with my mix. It is certainly noticeable in acceleration.

Default Of course

I just got a 2019 CX5 GTR. Of course Mazda made changes to the 2020 🙄. Unfortunately the dealer had no 2020s available. I think the 2020s have better sound insolation and some pumped in engine noise.

My MX5 has the induction sound enhancer which is a tube that directs engine intake noise into the cabin. I removed it as have a lot of other MX5 owners.

Yeah, unless that 2.5 T engine sounds like a Lambo Hurrrican I'd get rid of the "piped-in sound" too.
I may add DynaMat sound insulation to my front interior wheel wells and see it it helps, not that the Db level is high as-is.

My main mod will be putting on 245/50/19 tires when the factory treads are shot. That will help handling a bit.

BTW, DID Mazda add sway bars to the top CX 5 models for 2020? I can find nothing on that. My 2019 handles well without them but I wish i could totally disable traction control to find the true limits of handling. Yeah, you can "disable" it with the switch but it comes back on just as soon as you begin to have fun on a twisty road.

yeah I can’t find anything on the sway bars either. Watch a few 2020 reviews and read articles...no info on that.
