Michelin Premier LTX opinions
 

Hello all. 2016.5 GT.

Flat tire this morning with a screw too close to the side wall to patch. I've opted to replace all four rather than replace just one. I have just 26k on the Toyos and there's still some tread, and can replace just the one, but I'd rather have all four tires the same for safety sake.
Local tire shop has Michelin Premier LTX and looking for opinions on them. The forum seem to like Michelin.

Looking for something quieter and smoother than the Toyos. Also, I live in New England, so there's a snow concern as well.

What are you thoughts? Thank you!

I have been extremely happy with TireRack.com for their reviews of various tires and the comparison between brands. I recommend that you go to their website to consider the options available to you. I think this is a better way to select a tire than to get the input from others with different weather and driving styles. I have Michelin X Ice 3 on my Mazda in the winter and the stock tires in the summer. While they have been good for me, I can't say they are better than other options.

I have bought tires mounted to wheels from TireRack, unmounted tires for a local shop to mount and just used it for research and bought locally.

I have 17" premier ltx on my 2017 and really like the tires. They are quiet, handle well dry and wet, absorb bumps and appear to wear well. I have 10k miles and the tires are showing very little wear.

Thanks jjhebigscreen . I ended up buying the 19" Premier LTX for my GT and so far, very quiet and smooth ride (high on the criteria list for me). No experience yet with rain or snow (of course). I've read some reviews of people complaining about early wear, but hope my experience is like yours. I rotate every 5k-6k miles, and am not an aggressive driver. They are not inexpensive though at $215 each.

I'll post again once we get snow.

So, wow! I love these tires. So smooth, minimal road noise, and we just had storm with inches of water in which I had to drive home from work during. Held the road perfectly in inches of water.

FYI, I purchased cheap Solar brand tires from Walmart @ $58 each. I only did that because I am getting ready to trade-in for a new car. Bottom line is you get what you pay for. Cheap tires have reasonable handling, but greatly lack in other areas like road noise and smooth ride. I always had good luck with Goodyear Assurance 80k tires. 4+/5 all around.
