Which I read as ALL states are Toyota. Some are "Toyota Motor Insurance Services, Inc", some are "Toyota Motor Services Company", and Florida is "Toyota Motor Insurance Company". ALL Toyota.

Ok, I was mistaken. The financials (loans) are handled (Assignee) Toyota Motor Credit Corporation. The extended warranty from my NJ dealership is handled by First Extended Service Corp., based in Chicago.

My Platiumn VSA / Mazda - dealer - factory authorized / dealer ONLY - ( all ) was purchased 2/19/2022 in the USA - It cleary states all repairs are ONLY TO B made by Mazda factory certified tech's. ( at only Mazda dealers in the USA ) with ONLY MAZDA OEM parts . - Grated I purchased this PLATINUM $0/deducatable - 10 year or 125,000 mile ( whichever comes 1st) . The " laguage and stipulations are contingent and proprietary/ excusive to the multiple possible optional options which may be choosen. In laymens terms - There are now (2022 ) 3/ ( three ) different levels which can be purchased . Powertrain / Gold / Platinum - and within those. - 3 alterations on deductabiity / $0 -$100 / thus - a marketing fiasco inherited from ( Toyota ) -leaving 6 distinct posibilities / all with $0 or $100 deduct / against (3) levels ~. to view the differences you. must sit with the F & I person and read the 13 pages of each to distinguish the differences - Its unlike the Mazda I knew growing up - hence the interface with Toyota and their lawyers who found the most confusing and uncomparable offering of coverage which , gives the least coverage for the right buyer , unless you hire a lawyer - Sad indeed that Mazda traded its soul in barter for either technology or a " service agreement " equasion which yields the consumer the least and the mfgr the most $$.
Really sad /. Mazda dosent need Ford or Totota to boil things down to a monetary benificial equasion - Thars why Subaru - split from Toyota- the BRZ - in exchange for the FR-Z ....-and toyota gave Subaru intake tech - what ! This is the incestual relationships that small fish use to theoreticslly advance their market shares - in shorter time consraints to advance an increase in stock price - yep - then the do what Mazda did ( a threat to yoda) and then get our B4 the black widow eats its host -

Default Many years ago…

…I purchased an AWD Acura RL with tons of tech for 2006. I ended up purchasing an Acura backed extended warranty for 7 years / 100K miles before the car had 6K miles on it from a dealer in New England for $1500 over the internet. My local dealer wanted over $3K and came down to $2500. I did internet research and found prices from $1500 to $7000+ for the same manufacturer warranty from Acura dealers.

I would tell you to at least do this kind of research to see if Mazda does something like this.

I barely broke even on the warranty. All the tech survived warranty. Things like transmission mount and other mechanical items needed repair.

This is why I don't recommend buying one. Take the 1,500 and put it in a saving account earmarked for car repairs. Then when something comes up, you have money waiting to fix it. If it doesn't break in the time you own it, you still have the 1,500 to use as a down payment for the next car. Win - win. Of course there are some folks who get the better of a warranty, but obviously this isn't the norm, otherwise the warranty companies would be out of business.

I agree - even though I did end up buying one for my 2021 CX-5. Maybe I got caught up in the moment. Another reason is that the damn extended warranties are prorated from the time you buy one, even though the car is covered by the standard warranty for 3 years/36k miles. So, if your car gets stolen or totaled in 2 years for example, that clock has been ticking for 2 years and your "refund" will reflect that.

I got the extended 6-year warranty as well for our 2018 CX-5 since I think the 3-year basic warranty is not sufficient to cover all the complex electronics and components of the car. We are still good until 2024 and it gives peace of mind.

So the question is - have you used it at all so far? How much was the original cost? Do you plan on keeping the '18 after the warranty expires?
