Mazda 2019 CX5 sport plus 2.2d awd

Passengers folding door mirror is sticking on opening intermittently. Any solutions would be so grateful

Some people have fixed this by spraying WD-40 around the mirror.
I'm not certain how safe that is for any electronics that might be behind the mirror.

There is a Water Resistant WD-40 available, and it could be a better choice than the regular one in this case.
