Heads up - check your tires.
That's what I saw this morning when I was walking around and had a chance to look at our CX-5 from lower angle.
http://gallery.korandel.net/var/albu...CX-5/cx5-2.jpg Noticed something? Quick check 5 sec. later revealed that all four wheels were severely overinflated - 42psi! One would have thought that tire pressure is one of the things that dealer has to check during pre delivery. |
They come from ship that way, fairly common. Yes, dealer should adjust tire pressures (cold). Thanks for reminder.

I checked mine today, 2 pounds over, cold. I left them because that's generally how I prefer them. |
Checking tires should be done periodically.
I stored my summer tires this winter, after putting them back a month ago, I had all my tires checked. All needed some air. Yes, the dealer should have checked it. I have Nitrogen in my tires. If you have air pressure sensors in your tire (I don't) you should have nitrogen. My preference is to check in garage (cold before driving in morning). I have (only cost$100) compresser in garage for adjusting pressure. Never have to use junk equipment at gas stations that way.

That's not so severe, though it may seem that way. I run mine @ 38F/35R all the time, and have run them up as high as 40. I do a lot of seat-of-the-pants testing to see what seems to work best for me and my car. And BTW: When you replace the OE tires at some point, consider that if not the same brand and model some further pressure adjustment may be in order for best handling/braking. Not all tires are created equal. The door sticker is only a guide based on the tire a manufacturer expects to use on a particular vehicle in production. Weight, weather, driving conditions and driving style should all be considered when determining tire pressure. |
yeah i had the same problem, lr 44, all others 42.5
called dealer and told them this was very unsafe and they needed to check their stock and call new owners to check their pressure, they seemed genuinely surprised by the info |
