I tried a search but couldn't find a thread on this so here goes......
I became the proud owner of a slightly used CX5 sport a few months ago, and while I like the car, it's missing the Navigation maps chip!
I contacted Mazda Philippines to be told, 'Just bring it to your Mazda dealer and pay 3000 peso and we'll fit it for you.'
Now to say this the the vast majority of owners in Philippines, who may well live on a remote province, probably an island hundreds of km from a main dealer is about as helpful as a poke in the eye! I'm in Palawan, and to put my car on a ferry, take it and me to Manila, drive to a dealer and pay them P3000, then drive back to the port.....wait 3 days (because there's no such thing as RORO going to Palawan), and then return home would take around 7 or 8 days and about P60,000 in fares and hotels!!!!!
So my question is........HOW can I buy and install this memory chip so I can finally use this MAJOR part of the car's system?

Any ideas??

 

As mentioned it is an easy installation that you can do yourself. It is a simple SD card that needs to be inserted into the slot for the navigation to work.

In the US the SD cards are available on Amazon for around $100 US. I have not seen them much cheaper. They can only be used in a single vehicle so I would be concerned about buying one that is too cheap from an individual seller.

I just bought a 3019 Mazda3 which uses a different card than the rest of the Mazdas. They did not have the card so they are mailing it to me. I didn’t want to drive the 15 miles to the dealer. I suspect they assumed the dealer was in your town.
