i have a 2017 cx5, the fuel consumption monitor that reads your average consumption stopped displaying and shows an “N” and them switches to “W” as I drive.

is there a reset or setting I may need to do or is this an issue?

 

I wonder if what you're seeing is a compass reading. On the '21s, you can change the dash displays from graphics for Avg MPH, Fuel remaining, etc to a digital display of these by pushing and holding the **** that also changes the dash light intensity. Check your owner's manual on this.
