Exhaust gases after engine switch off

Hi everybody. I have just picked up our first Mazda- a new CX5. this afternoon (UK, 2L petrol 'Sport - Nav'). Just a question on the exhaust - after the engine has been switched off, exhaust gases continue to drift out of the R/H side tailpipe for several minutes. Is this normal or should I get it checked? Car had only done 5 miles!
Cheers in advance.

I can't tell you why it would only do it on one side (since it's a single exhaust with a dual outlet!), but I don't think I'd worry about it unless it's a significant amount of burn-off. Give things a chance to break in and, if it doesn't stop, you might ask the dealer service dept about it on your first service apt.

Okay, cheers for that - we've had lots of new cars over the years and never experienced this before, hence my concern. I'll let it get a good few miles under it's belt before starting to get concerned ;)
