EGR Valve 2013 CX5

Hi all, hypothetically if I was to disconnect the EGR valve on a 2.2 diesel CX5 would there be any negative affects? I'm wondering what happen if the elec terminal to the solinond was unplugged?

Car would illuminate the Engine warning light and go into limp mode.

Thanks for the response. Could the warning be turned off and the system disabled or is it a key function in order for this type of engine?

There may be companies out there that can hack Mazda's software and reprogram the ECU/PCM.
