Do the LED blind spot indicators on the CX-5’s mirrors ever need to be replaced? Do they ever burn out and if they do how do you replace them?

These are Light Emitting Diodes, a solid state device bonded to the back of the mirror. They are designed to last the life of the vehicle.

So are the flashing turnsignals on each of the mirrors LEDs as well? Or are they just regular ones that can be replaced? Or are they permanent like the blind spot lights?

My passenger side mirror developed a white mineral crust on the upper edge and surface of the glass. When I removed it, what was left behind was a "band" of dark, de-silvered glass. Weirdest thing I've ever seen on a side-view mirror. It's not too obvious but to make it right I will have to replace the mirror glass. It is sold as a separate part and I wonder what the deal is with the translucent mirror glass that allows the LED's to shine through and if they are part of the mirror glass with little connectors behind it. The after market mirror glass part probably doesn't even have that feature built in. I haven't priced it at the dealership yet.

BSM indicator is built into the mirror glass.
