DDM HID Install Pics
 

Thought I would throw up pics of my 6000k HID install on my 2014 CX-5. Also threw in some new license plate lights (LED). This pics make them look pretty blue, but in person they are just really white with slight hint of blueness. Sorry pics are kind of grainy, taken with phone.

Let me know what you guys think or share your experience with aftermarket kits!

They look good. Even in the pic their close to the color of my OEM ones. I like the LED plate bulbs, I may have to do that.

Hey what type of hid kit and size bulb did you get from ddm. I just picked up my new cx-5 this weekend and wanted to get some hid's for it. also what type of led bulb did you use for the license plates?

DDM Tuning 35W and 55W HID Kits

I did the 35w, 6000k, none of the extra stuff.

I have a question regarding the headlamps of your 2014. We are looking at a 2015 I would assume the headlight setup is similar.


I am leaning towards a Grand Touring, but skipping the tech package. Mainly for not needing the TomTom Navigation.


I am big on HID Xenon and want to make sure I can still install an aftermarket HID kit in the headlamps.


Do the non-tech package models still come with a projector headlight for a low beam?

Yes all CX-5 Models come with the projector headlights and install is pretty straightforward. I have had zero issues thus far with the DDM ones I picked up last year. Let us know what you end up doing!

What bulb size does the non-tech package take for the low beam behind the projector?

Per the owner's manual - H11. Same as the fogs.

Where did the ballast fit?

I Velcro'd them next to the suspension mounts. They are the slim ballast's, so you could really mount them anywhere. I'll try and snap some pics for ya.
