Question Daylight Running Lights

Just purchsed New CX5 and new to the site. I live in the U.K and have the version sent here. I would like to change the ordinary Daylight Running Light bulbs to LEDs. Has anyone done this? I have the halogen headlamp version. I really love the vehicle and wonder why they were not included in the first place.

I swapped out my OEM bulbs for Xenon White LED bulbs from this seller on eBay. These particular bulbs only work on GT's with the tech package. He has other bulbs with inline decoders for non-GT's.

Looks good, assuming you want brighter DRL's.

I tried these bulbs with the decoders on my non tech pack and they would not work. The problem was that the DRL bulbs fitted have two functions. a) Full power headlight and half power DRL. When fitted they will only work in one or the other mode. Full power all the time or half power all the time. In fact when on half power they only light up two or three of the leds. I can only assume those that got them to work on the non tech version are using the high beam headlight function which is not very clever for oncoming vehicle drivers. The decoders only stop warning light warnings coming up on the dash. They do not work to identify high and low power to the bulbs.
