CX-5 TPMS display
I bought New CX-5 last Dec.
But there is only TPMS warning light on dashboard instead of digital value. And I found there is a monitor can show tire information in Amazon: It seems quick small and can show 4 tire pressure and temp. Does anyone have installed this? |
Unless they changed since 2016, the Mazda CX-5 monitors tire rotation for the TPMS, rather then pressure sensors in the wheels. Without sensors in the wheels I don't think the Amazon monitor will work help you any. It would be nice if the warning light indicated which wheel was low, though.

Orange Electronic seems a Taiwan company and has ads on Youtube for this.
I checked that New CX-5 has installed tire sensor, so the monitor should work it if it really can get sensor signal. On Mazdas247, same guy posted that he did bought that monitor, will see what he get. https://www.mazdas247.com/forum/show...-Monitor/page2 |
Can someone actually confirm that the US spec CX-5 has moved to actual pressure sensors in each wheel? In my market the new shape, & the old shape relies on tyre rotation rather than actual sensors.

Online Manual mention that there are sensors inside.
So I think old CX-5 is using tire rotation but New CX-5 is sensor. http://owners-manual.mazda.com/gen/e.../05120200.html On Mazdas247, that guy already got monitor and it works. https://www.mazdas247.com/forum/show...69#post6577869 He is in Canada, but I don't think there is different with US. Now I just think if it's worth to spend $115-. Will update if I buy it! |
Finally, I bought and got the display.
It's easy to set up and works good. Can show tire's pressure and temperature. Maybe someone will feel this is useless, but not me. At least I know which tire has problem not just a warning light now! https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.maz...c604a6ba4e.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.maz...1a1f4e198a.jpg |
Is that plugged into the USB for power?
A better method might be to forget about manufacturing a display and just create a phone app. BTW, if that is yours in the lowest picture you need to add air to the tires. |
Yes, it has USB wire inside.
And the recommend tire pressure is 36 psi. The 2nd photo value is tire temperature. |
