Hi All, I came here to say this. I have CX -5 Skyactive 2006. Bought it back in 2020 and the mileage was somewhere around 15K. And you guessed it, the head gasket got blown after 2 years and had to replace it it was about 3000£, then a year after or so we had to change the twin turbo charger, it was about 1200£. Many people said I should just sell it because the Mazda diesel is a nightmare, but one old mechanic told me to just fill it up with premium diesel from Shell. And it's been working a miracle and we haven't had any problem since, touch wood, for 6 months now.

The funny thing is that the warning light once showed up this one time we had to refill at Morissons or Tesco. Then we immediately topped it up with premium diesel at Shell then the light went off. This could be just my car so I can not guarantee anything but I just wanted to share this information....as I have heard Shell premium just clean the engine while running etc.
Hope it helps with some of the problems!

CHEVRON and Shell are always my top advises of fuel to use in either gas or diesel engine. We have far less return customers in the shop when these fuels are used on a regular basis.

Yep I try to use those along with Sunoco and Mobil/Exxon. I'd rather pay an extra $2-$3 dollars to get high quality premium gas in my car.
