Class III Hitch for 2022 CX-5
 

I just brought our new 2022 Premium Plus home last night. Loved the ride home, still figuring out some details but so far I'm really happy.

I ride mountain bikes, so I carry bikes on a hitch receiver quite frequently. A quick search for hitches that fit the 2022 turned up nothing on eTrailer or other sites. I assume this is because there were some minor changes to the CX-5 for 2022, but I'm curious if anyone has insight into when hitches will be available for the 2022? Thanks.

Shouldn't be any changes from 2017 to 2022 for towbars/hitches ( yes weight limits changed)

Thanks - I know the taillights changed slightly, but wasn't sure if there were any other minor changes. eTrailer advised that it can take a while for companies to confirm fitment in a new model year vehicle. I'll probably wait a month or two, I ride a lot less in the winter and have other vehicles with hitches.

Apparently, Mazda dealers started receiving emails from corporate on 2/11/2022 that the tow hitch for 22 CX-5 would not be available until Spring of 2022.
They have updated the accessories page when configuring your CX-5 to include this information.
Something to do with the redesigned bumper.

Anyways, you might find similar delays with 3rd parties as well.

Really disappointing, as I need a tow hitch installed asap, and I don't want to void my warranty.

were you able to install a hitch from 2021? Just bought my cx5 and in the same situation as you. Want to use my kuat hitch rack but no one can confirm the hitches fit

I have not tried yet, so I can’t confirm that it will fit. I’ll probably wait until fit can be confirmed by someone else, as I have another vehicle available with a receiver already installed.

I ordered mine from the Mazda dealer. Fits right works good.

You can confirm that a 2021 CX-5 Hitch fits a 2022 CX-5? Can you post pictures and part number of the hitch you used?

Check with dealer. Doubt that the frame has changed.
