Bose Speaker static/hiss noise even with sound off?
Hi!
I recently purchased a 2017 Mazda CX-5 Touring model with the bose speaker package. Within the first week I started hearing a hissing/static/scratchy disc type noise coming from the speakers at all times (sound on, sound off, with Bluetooth on or off, with usb cable plugged in or out, HD radio on or off).
I took it in to the dealer and they first replaced the tweeters, and that did not fix the issue. I took it in a second time and they said it was the antenna. That did not work.
They now say they cannot recreate the noise and will not help me, and say it’s normal for the amp to give off static at all times even with the sound off. This is frustrating! Has anyone else had this issue?
I don't have the Bose speakers but speakers in general can make more noise depending on how they're adjusted - maybe try turning down the treble and make sure you don't have anything turned all the way up. Techs at Car Toys might be able to help you - they deal with speakers more than a dealer would.
My 2011 Ford Fiesta had the same problem. It started after I took the car to the dealership for a recall on door latches. It got worse and worse over time and eventually the whole stereo system stopped working. I was so busy at that time that I ignored the problem. My guess is that the sound system is short-circuited somewhere.
