Default Audio system/Radio

I have a 2016 CX5 Touring with the touch audio system, no nav. bluetooth. My problem is that I can not figure out how to turn the radio off. I can mute the radio, change from radio to CD, etc. but can not turn it off. I have read the owners manual and the quick start guide but there is no mention of any way to turn the radio off. Baffled by the new technology.

You can't. You can only do what you said above. I think its dumb. The old CX5 you could hit the off button, not with the new system.

I'm having the same frustration. There's always that slight hissing sound of a stereo powered on but muted. Waste of electricity (ie gas) but also really annoying. Anyone know of a solution? I imagine they update their software from time to time... Could they possibly add on "off" option?

I don't know whether you've tried this, but we turn the volume to 0 instead of using the mute.

It needs to be on for the backup camera to work when you put it in reverse.

I just turn the volume to zero, and/or dim the dash lamps so they're very faint (during the day).

Thank you. I finally figured out the the system needs to be for the camera and other functions. I just mute the volume.
