Advice for a Roof Basket
Hi, I have a 2021 CX-5 Signature that came with factory roof rails and would like to add a basket. I have a moon roof but never use it. Primary choices seem to be Thule, which I think is an official Mazda accessory and thus I could probably get the dealer to install (which is a big plus for me); Yakima; or Rhino-Rack. I saw a guy complaining about the official dimensions of the RhinoRack being inaccurate partly because of its bike mounts but I have a bike and that might actually be an advantage for me. Anybody have experience with one of these? Any recommendations? TIA!
Have a manual XV on order and I'm going back and forth about transferring my bike roof rack over or going with the basket. I know the XV doesn't have a ton of room, so the roof option has knee jerk appeal and I like how they look aesthetically...I just can't come up with what I'd actually put in there. I have a toddler and all of her gear, so a cargo box could be an option too

I added cross bars to the rails on mine and then put a cargo rack I picked up at Harbor Freight. It works fine but really slurps the fuel with the air drag as well as humming on the highway. When it's loaded, you don' notice it but with it empty, the bottom bars in the carrier vibrate and hum going down the road. The least they could do is learn the words.
I remove it when I'm not using it. I put tape where the mounts go so I don't have to measure each time I put it on.
