2023 CX-5 add CD Player
I have a new 2022 CX-5 and would like to add a CD player in the glove box or the center armrest storage box. I'm thinking the center armrest storage box because USB ports are already in there makes it easier. What kind of player do I get? Maybe give me brand, model names and links if you know them also. Thanks in advance.
I second what reaper said.
Much easier and cheaper to do in the long run.
I actually use my old Samsung phone just for loading my music on.
Can go Bluetooth or wired, though I prefer the wired connection.
No messing with wiring, fuses and carting around CD's.

Have you been able to solve this? I've just got a 2023 CX-5 and it doesn't have an AUX input for standard USB, only USB-Cs, which is annoying. Ripping thousands of CDs to my phone is not an option, so I'm keen to know if you found a bluetooth CD player that actually connects to the Mazda.
I transferred all my cd's and vinyl to HD & SSD.
I can now easily transfer them to any media device I want.
If you really want a CD player, then just purchase a portable battery, rechargeable or USB powered one.
You can get a Bluetooth or you can use the headphone jack for your aux out to the CX-5.
You'll still have to pull over every time you want to change a CD or face a possible distracted driving fine.

Agreed. I can't understand the desire to continue to use CD's in today's digital world. Ripping the cd will result in the same quality sound, and then you have all of your music with you all the time, rather than picking a cd or two for the day. If it was a record player you wanted, I could understand a little more ...
You could also try to rip the CDs onto your laptop, and then try to download them on your phone. I think you can try to use them through Youtube Music. I used to have them on Google Play Music.
I deleted all apps from it except the music player.
It works great for that and fits nicely in the console space in front of the shift lever.
The addition of a Universal CD player is very easy to mount and connect to just about any factory sound system. If you know how to do it prperly
Just look for a an inexpensive one and talk to a stereo shop that can install it properly for you connecting it to your sound system
Why do people not answer the question and interject stupid comments like why would anyone want to listen to CD produced music.

I have a collection of 8 tracks , Quad 8 tracks, Cassettes, Real to Real, *Vinyl's (returning by popular demand and very much available) etc.... why because I am an audiophile and there is just some music that is only really when you hear how it was originally produced and sold for us to hear.

Or "Are you going to mount the VHS player in the trunk"?
