Any fastener that gets touched it is easy to see. But I guess that is just me? I know what to look for. There is a BIG difference in the assembling a nut or bolt from the factory to one that is touched by anyone else, if even to check it.
I will say it is an unusual service these days (not so unusual for vehicles manufactured pre 1970) and have to wonder why Mazda was concerned enough on this model to make it part of the maintenance scheduling? (if it actually is? )
The job is not even listed in AllData? But I would say it is about an hour or less to check EVERY fastener on the suspension?
Service follow up - completed - and a big Thank You to da Chief and Lobsta
Well Gents , Since you were so helpful in encouraging me to get the free - Nuts and blots on chassis and body performed / which is reccomened every 7500 miles ( on my 2022 CX5 NA/CE ) ....it is free/ I did it finally at 18,000k miles and felt compelled to share my experience - Which was absolutely shocking and necessacary / Here is the service report - verbatim - :

Can only say , that it was well worth the trip !
I waited nearly 3x the reccomended interval - the first being 7500mi / The mileage was just over 18,000k mi / and my climate is generally pretty hot thus not effecting bolt contraction as much as a very cold climate . Obviously the heat keeps the metal expanded more so than colder climates that might allow bolts to losen more easily . In this case / there was some losening which occured which was in most bolts a limited amount / yet nearly every one required adjustment to be restored to factory perfection -( assuming the torque wrenches were properly calibrated ) / I will not say the name of the dealer , which is in Arizona - but I will say they come in as being ranked consistently #1 / not only in the state but rally between being #1 or #2 nationwide depending on how the service dept. scores flucuate each month - like a CSI score for sales - I say this not to brag or be arrogant - but the store is one of the newest as they moved from being in a much older Mazda location which was part of a 2 dealer store Mazda having been the underdog of the 2 for years and the only thing that made it Mazda was a janky old sign . They did so well Mazda supported building them one of the new Mazda designed stores which means its less than 2 years old and Mazda only / - Mazda has come a long way, when you see one of these new dealers -Quite impressive - There are 7 dealers closer to my house - but I had tried a few others and none were performing like this location nor had new buildings/ That said ....It was testament to Mazdas impressive rise to beating Toyota last year as being the most reliable brand on the market /
All that aside - Chief / Lobsta - I was not going to do this and you nudged me into it - and it was a great experience to be at a new store with all the new protocols Mazda has to go along with it - not big on espresso bars , but they had one ! When my CX5 was finished I was in the waiting room , and had to be peeled off the ceiling after downing a few double espressos and some chocolate they have... , they then sent me a video of the work that was done and the full circle inspection on everything / filters , brakes , tires..,etc etc /
- I drove 1hr/40min each way - but no charge for the work - They didnt try to sell me anything - but since I do most everything else myself / it didnt need anything and knew it / it builds my trust as I knew everything else was dialed in and they confirmed it on video -
- If you have the " T " on your service reccomendation in the owners manual - I suggest finding your best trusted dealer and for 0$ - Do it ! - I have a sharpe angled exit from my driveway to the street and prior began to hear an occasional clunk noise comimg from the left front suspension area around 10k mi - and at times from the rear - if backing in - I got home today after the adjustments and could not duplicate those sounds anymore - and I pulled in and out multiple times -

Sounds like a great experience with a dealer treating customers as they should.
Add in free chocolate at today's chocolate prices plus a free expresso "hi" and it's an "adventure".
Haven't visited the Grand Canyon yet, but when I do, maybe I'll stop in there for a service.
Thanks Calisto - I refered to the scheduled maintainence in the owners manual and on both schedule #1 and #2 ( severe conditions ) it reccomends " T " tighten at 15k mile intervals not 7500 - so im not sure i will do it again at 30 or 45. as Im not doing any hard driving on ill maintained third world roads.
but heres the reccomendation right from the owners manual -
well, well well look what I found in my own file notebook OWNERS schedule guide. I even copied it originally to make notes.
This is for a 2018
No excuses I just not use to seeing this on a service schedule. And maybe that I am under the car so much and hyper sensitive to anything that is not normal in sounds and feeling of the Mazda? IKD. I will say when I read this in my car I looked at sever owners scheduling from other car, i.e. BMW,MINI, Ford, Chrysler and a Toyota and none were like the Mazda? I am sure now seeing this that there are more then what I thought and will add that to my courtesy service for some of our regular customers in the shop

Nuts and bolts on chassis and body ? I see it at the bottom on your OM - I missed it for a year and 1/2 - Its likely service does it as you said - or checks it - possibly some dealers ignore it ???
However is should be in the notes so Mazda pays the shop time , if its checked or performed - - The part that its free is baffling - but one interesting thing is its last adjustment is at 60k( 4 total 15,30,45,60 mi - ~ end of driveline warranty mileage - I can honestly say -- i notice the difference when going over the driveway angled exit - which dips and slants - no more clunking noise - feels super tight and tracks perfectly -

While I can understand the placebo effect it is more likely they lubricated a bushing or 2 while doing the service? If you actually did have a "lose" fastener... holy cow that would just be scary to think! Hoinestly I dont think I have ever had a lose suspeion fasner from the factory on any vehicle in over 40 years of service hundreds of cars and trucks!
ng condition and also to see when things are wearing and needing to be replaced.
Normally when the schedule for service e expires on the recommendation you should continue the periodical servicing to keep everything in the best operation .
I would HIGHLY recommend that you disregard that the automatic transmission is a Lifetime no service and get a transmission pan filter and fluid service done. it will not void the warranty and WILL prevent posible problem that will arise as your milage gets past 50k miles.

Thanks Calisto - I have always wondered why the transmission service is either not listed or listed as see your dealer ? - On my 2010 GT-3-2.5 NA/ Hatchback automatic - I did a trans flush every 30k and then at 90k started doing only drain/ fill every 30k - Its been reliable as a result - so your advice is good - but with the skyactive I had to start over with research based on the " lifetime " no service thing - then learing " lifetime " comes with an asterik which is the average time people keep a car - 100k mi - but the same dealer that did the chassis bolts - said what you did - which is , service the trans every 30kmi - and I will -
Thanks again

Also somewhere on my thread I show exactly what is in the pan and pan magnet at less then 15k miles from new.
