2017 Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD (Soul Red), 850 miles for 23K? Is it a good deal?

Hello,

Recently I decided to buy a Mazda CX-5 (after a friend brought which left me impressed too) and visited few dealers. Since I am new to this forum andany purchase guidance would be greatly appreciated. I was originally thinking for a new 2019 CX-5 GT FWD and the best quote I received was 29K. One dealer instead offered a 2017 Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD (Soul Red) with 850 miles for 23K? Is it a good deal? This car was never titled so the dealer said it would get the same manufacturer warranties for powertrain, engine and transmission from the day of purchase (36,850 miles /3 years new vehicle warranty and 60,850/5 years powertrain). The dealer says they obtained this CAR after they bought another dealership in the area as it was unsold. No other details regarding the history were provided so requested the dealer to provide a carfax report.

This car has pretty much all features I need. Is 23K for an almost new 2017 Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD (Soul Red), 850 miles for 23K a good deal or should I negotiate further?

TIA!

With it being a 2017 and having 850 miles,I'd say the dealer isn't losing any money. It may have been a demo / driven by a salesman which isn't necessarily a bad thing.BUT, to me a really big issue is the color.Members of the mazdas247 forum have detailed their tales of woe and experiences in trying to get it fixed. In a nutshell the newly introduced "soul red crystal metallic" chips real easy and can be difficult to match. And some cars only had sections repainted which makes color matching even harder, not to mention botched jobs.Supposedly Mazda is fixing or fixed this problem with the latest produced models in this color.
As far as I know, the original "soul red metallic" (not crystal) held up fine.Do yourself a big favor and get on "mazdas247 ", cx-5 forum ,and read about it.Personally I'd avoid this due to color alone even if a smokin' deal was offered.Which it isn't. Just my thoughts. Jmaz

Thank you Jmaz. I read about some those issues with color. Will definitely consider it.

2017 Price

I bought a used 2017 AWD Grand Touring with 4500 miles on it from a Toyota Dealer. That was 6 month ago and it was $26,500 out the door. The orignal sticker was $34,400.

It was a fair deal and they gave me top dollar on my 10 year old Toyota trade.

Based on your info I believe that is a fair deal.

Is it a "certified" used car? If so, then the dealer knows a lot more than any Carfax report will indicate. Those cars essentially have no sales risk.

Almost same situation here. Recently picked up a certified used red 2017 CX-5 for about $5,000-$4,000 less than a new one, with under 10,000 miles on the odometer. Everything was in sterling condition.
2017 was the first year for this current body style. All else being equal, I say go for it. From warranty standpoint, it is a new car for a lot less than new.

Sounds like a good deal with all the warranty intact.
