2015 CX-5 Sport grill guard help needed
 

I live in deer/hog country and am looking to see if anyone has had a guard installed on their CX5. If so, where did you order it? Also, any tips on towing w the CX5, 2.0L- good/no good? I'm a newbie w my new CX5. Thanks.

Can't help with the guard but the CX-5 is a great tow vehicle up to 2000 lbs. I recommend the curt hitch and there powered wiring harness. You will love the backup camera for hooking up the trailer.

I've also been looking at the guards but the only ones I've found have been chrome. Would rather have a black one as I think it would look better. May try to build my own if I acquire a tubing bender in the near future. It would make this future project #5407. I just started #13.

The hydraulic tubing bender at Harbor Freight works pretty good and it's way cheaper than buying a ready made guard.

If you get a towbar I strongly recommend only fitting the genuine trailer wiring loom. Not only is it a simple plug & play it has its own module to prevent arcs, sparks, & surges from corrupting & or destroying your on-board computers. Iv'e seen Mazda's almost catch on fire from aftermarket/dodgy trailer wiring.

I'd be worried about something labeled as a light bar actually protecting your vehicle from hitting a 4 footed anything. Generally light bars are made as lightly as they can get away with. I'd go to a welding shop and show the the photo and let them do it up right.
