Default 2015 Brake pad replacement, two types of grease included in box

I started to do a pad replacement on my 2015 CX-5. When I opened up the box there were two small packages, one of black grease and the other a copper color. I assume the black one is for the contact areas of the brake pad to prevent noise but what is the copper color one for?

Thanks

I believe that the copper grease is for the slide/guide pins.

I am replacing my front brake pads on my car. I removed the wheel, replaced the pads, compressed the piston using an old brake pad and a c-clamp.

The problem is, I can't get the caliper to go over the new pads. The new pads and everything are about an eighth of an inch too Nox Vidmate VLC wide.

Cool

Exactly what pads are you using? Did you configure the brakes in maintenance mode before you removed the old pads? If not you could damage the calipers (rears anyway) by using a C-clamp.

Not sure what a video app has to do with this.

I don't know about the OP but Winkybil stated that only the fronts are being replaced at this time. No need for setting maintenance mode if only the fronts are being replaced.
