Question 2014 CX-5 GT Headlights appear dim

Hello fellow Mazda owners,

I bought this car used relatively recently and compared to all other cars I owned the headlights on this one seem weak even though this car supposedly has more expensive and powerful light bulbs than I ever had. The alignment seems OK. The lenses are not the cleanest but I had a lot worse. One thing I've noticed is that when I just start the car the lights go a lot brighter for a fraction of a second and then immediately dim down. Is that normal? Is there something I can check and/or measure?

Thanks for your help.

The xenon bulbs will dim as they age. It may be time to replace them.

Thanks. I have ordered new bulbs. Hopefully that will solve the problem.
