I have the 17" variant on my 20' CX 5 touring AWD. My goal is a a bit less sidewall then the 17" but not that of the 19", improved handling and the aesthetic of a fuller wheel well/ wider tire stance. I bought some 21' take off CX 3 18" 7.5" wide and with the same offset of the 17/19 CX 5 OE rims @45mm. I really like the General Alimax 365 AW tires but am torn between a 225/235-60-18. Either size ticks the sidewall and performance items but the 225 is basically the same size as the OE 19" 225/55 and the 235 is .5" taller and wider. Both tires weigh within 2lbs of the 17" Toy OE and the 18" rims do weigh more but i dont know how much.
I'd love to hear from any whose gone this route if possible. Thanks
Nice. I like the look. Seems to be a close 18" equivalent to the OE 225/55/19 in terms of diameter but being an inch or so wider. Is this a seasonal set up?
18" CX 30 wheels and 235/60/18 general 365 AW tires. The Machine Grey does make the wheels seem larger. BUt im planning on plasti dipping um black to see what that deos.
