Starting Mazda CX-3 without key present?

Hi,

i am the owner of a CX-3 for the past 3 years. Car is great.

I just have a question if it is at all possible to start the car without a key present at all.

A bit of background:

I went out this morning and had my keys, started the car normally and everything was fine.

I’ve gone to go out later in the day and started the car and realised I didn’t have my key on me. For the life of me I have searched the car and can not find it.

I have started and stoped the car multiple times fine, and when I get out of the car, the button on the side to lock the car, as well as the one attached to the boot lid, do nothing.

This makes me think the key is still somewhere within the car.

I just wanted to confirm, if there is a scenario I am not thinking of, where I can start the car without the key being present?

Its 99.999% impossible to start the vehicle without the remote fob being within transmission range.

I would agree with you that the key/fob is hiding somewhere inside the vehicle.

Try shutting all the doors, then try locking the vehicle using your spare remote fob, see what happens, does it give multiple warning beeps? If it does, that indicates you missing remote is inside the vehicle.
