2016 CX-3 Fuel data
 

Hello to the new CX-3 owners out there. I wanted to start this thread to compare fuel data with some of the other owners out there.

here's the setting for the Fuel data

2016-CX-3- GT

Eastern United States- Maryland- MD/VA/DC area
Ave temperature in the past week since we've purchased the care has been 25F

Current millage-518
Mostly flat grade, no hills or downhills in our area.
95% city driving.

Current Fuel Data according to the "Apps" page is 21.8 MPG

I've only filled up the gas tank twice and just getting to the bottom of the second tank now.

I know they say the engine has to brake in to be able to get the most accurate numbers as far as consumption, but I was curious to hear from some of the other owners out there.

Pulled in the gas station today with the car saying 10 miles until empty. I think the fuel indication in this car is not very accurate because I was only able to get 10.8 Us Gallons in it. I drove 245 miles on that tank.
The Fuel page indicated an average of 22.3 on that tank.

Mazda's distance to empty calculator is super protective.

My 2012 BL Mazda 3 has a 55 ltr fuel tank (14.5 us Gal)

With a distance to empty of 30kms (18.75 miles) I can only fit 41 ltrs (10 us Gallons) of fuel.

***However, it is inadvisable to drive around with the fuel light on. The fuel pump is submersed in petrol in order to keep it cool. Repeated driving with low fuel will cause heat stress/fatigue of the pump leading to premature wear & failure.

and I can completely understand that. The main reason why I started to even keep track was because the car is not getting anywhere near what they advertised. My average right now is 25.2 and that's half city and half highway.
