Default Will a 90 2600I 2WD engine work in an 89 2600i 4x4 truck?

Just as the post asks, will my 90 2600i engine work in an 89 2600i 4x4 truck? If so I know there must be things I will need to keep to put on the 89 and things I would need to remove from the 90 eigine but, are the blocks and such the same? Please let me know soon, thanks.

Quoting the Hollander interchange book here for an 89 Mazda 2600 4x4 engine
THe engine will work from the following but may require changes:

1989 - 1994 Mazda MPV (vin 1 )
1989 - 1993Mazda B2600 (Vin 4 )

Swap oil pans, dipsticks, manifolds, flywheels, & electrical components as necessary...

Note: Oil pan and dipstick differ from 4x2 to 4x4

Hope this helps....
