Ute won't start when hot. Bit of a different one.
Hi I own a 2011 bt50 turbo. Here's what's going on. When left to cool in the night when I go to start the yellow squiggly glow plug light comes on and the old girl fires and runs perfectly. But if I heat it up then turn it off when I go to start it just spins properly but without that yellow light appearing will not start. I'm mystified. It seems to be affected by temp and or humidity. I live in Brisbane so it's usually warm. A scan showed nothing apparently. Everyone has a different theory. Help please. I have changed the glow plug relay and have the glow plugs ready to go in. Thanks in advance for any help.

First thing scan for codes. Your symptoms sound very much like a failing crank sensor but lets not guess. If your car has a tacho does it show a reading of around 200-300rpm when cranking when the problem occurs?

2011, is that the older UN chassis or the later UP chassis?
The UN BT-50 did have issues with electromagnetic interference from the starter motor to the CAM/CRANK sensor. |
