well i am still learning about the differences for auto upgrades, but i do know a little bit about the differences between a turbo and a supercharger. The turbo, when set to your expectations, will kick in at a certain rpm, i believe you can tweak it to turning on in certain gears as well. but dont quote me on that. The supercharger, on the other-hand, will constantly give power to your vehicle, no matter what the rmp or gear.

Um, if it is carbureted its best to try to run a supercharger as tunning it for a turbo is practically impossable. The supercharger would be a custom made deal and probably run $3,000+. For the cost and the available power you can get out of the supercharger it isn't worth it, any large amounts of boost require so much power to run the supercharger that the engine can't handle it. 6 or 8 psi would be about the limit.

If its fuel injected turbocharging it will be easy, all you need to do is find turbo exhaust manifold from a 12 valve probe, 626, or MX6, bolt the turbo up, run some lines, probably best to get an intercooler unless you want to take appart the engine and lower the compression and it should be good to go. You will be limited to low boost unless you do some serious tuning though.

To get the best performance out of it your going to need a turbo profile cam and some other modifications.

alrite thanx...i wuz thinkin of just gettin a trubo outta probe or sumpin, or sumpin easy like that, to bolt on, i dont want to get too serious in the mods, cuz its not a very permanent vehicle...but thanx for the info

you would have to build a turbo or supercharger setup your self or have it made. it would take alot of work and knowledge though. its possable to do with a carb but it would have to be jetted. turbos dont kick in at any particular rpm or gear, it just needs to build pressure for it to spool. if you were going to do that the majority of the fuel system would have to be changed out. personally i dont think it would be worth it, besides it would raise hell on your internals.

Put a 50 hp shot of N2O on it. If you go with a carb mount system, it is just a plate that goes between the intake manifold and the carb. You could probably do it for ~$800 or so for a 50-75 hp kit. With stock internals I wouldn't go above ~50hp

I wouldn't touch Nitrous in an F2 engine without a speciallized complete rebuild and electronic ignition. Even after the 50 shot your only going to be pushing about 130 hp tops with a good nitrous system and even then your going to get smoked by a saturn. Nitrous is much harder on the engine than a turbo or supercharger because of the extreme heat produced. If the heat gets high enough, which is very easy to do, nitrogen will start reacting with the pistons and cylinder head and blow the thing sky high, this is even more likely to happen if the ignition is not retarded the way its suppose to, which if you didn't correct could cause so much pressure on the pistons before TDC that not only would there be significantly less power being made but enough stress could be placed on the engine to possably blow the whole bottom end out of it.

These engines are known to be able to handle atleast 6-8 psi of boost on stock internals as long as you don't abuse it. But all three of these options are major projects that will cost major money of you don't want to build a paper weight. A supercharger setup is probably going to run $1600-$3000. Turbo setup on a carb is probably going to be around $1000 with a weber and lots of tuning time, most likely you would have to pay an expert to do it and fork out about $200 in air bleeds and jets because you can't just simply replace the jets with larger ones you have to change the well tubes and air correctors, idle jets and all kinds of stuff otherwise the thing probably won't even run. If you want to convert to fuel injection your probably looking at $800 and several weeks looking for all the conversion parts then another couple hundred for a turbo setup. I wouldn't even attempt any of the three without getting several good books on the subject even after my education.

Me personally unless you want to yank the engine and do a full build I would put a weber on it with a 2" exhaust and a cam and be happy with it and for the 3 of those your still looking at $700 or more.
