Truck Not Firing
I pulled my engine, to put new gaskets all over it. I put it all back together, and had it running, but the timing was off a little bit. The distrubtor was maxed out turning it wise. So i pulled it out turned it a few notches, and put it back in. and not it it will not fire. The coil is getting fire. Its a brand new coil, and distbutor. new plugs, wires.. please help me out, i depend on this mazda for everyday use. its a 1989 Mazda B2600i 4x4. 2.6 Liter Fuel Injected.

did you reference the timing at all? im guessing its not even close now. try and get a timing light and make sure its on.

I PULLED THE VALVE COVER OFF AND WATCHED THE CAMSHAFT GEAR AND DISTRUBUTOR.THE DOWEL PIN ON THE CAMSHAFT BROKE, AND ITS NOT TURNING THE DISTRUBUTOR GEAR. WOULD THAT MAKE IT NOT BE CRANKING??????

The dowel pin is a dealer item only..... Figures!!!!!1and ahalf weeks till i can get it...LoL About my timing. when i put the cam in.. how do i set the timing back to where it goes so it will run correctly. when i pulled the cam, i had the number 1 piston up to top dead center. What else???? this forum is awsome!

Do you have a GOOD repair manual handy? The instructions should be in the book......
