Default Starter question

Since I got my 2600i, not every time, but close, you have to try a few times to start it, but today, I went to start it and all it does is make a sound from the starter like it's not trying to turn over, sounds like it's just spinning, not engaging.

Default RE: Starter question

Sounds like the solenoid is shot. It fires the starter gear to engage the flywheel. If it goes, the starter can just freewheel. Pull it (starter) and have it checked at a local auto parts store. I don't know if you can replace just the solenoid. I doubt that you can.

Default RE: Starter question

i have a 93 b2200 that does the same thing but every three times it starts after you play with the gears. not positive on what the problem is but was told it was either the starter or the fly wheel is missing teeth. i guess i will find out soon when i do the clutch what the problem was.
