Removing 1994 B2300 Pick Up Shift Knob

How do I remove the shift knob on my son's 1994 B2300 Pick Up?
I can't figure how its being held in place.

There are several styles, I am not sure which the truck uses but the possibilities are screw on, press on and glued on, knowing my older Fords I have/had its glued/pressed on and since this is a '94 it is a Ford Ranger with a Mazda badge so my money is on the pressed/glued option.

Thanks so much. So would you recommend trying to break the glue seal with plyers and trying to pull/twist it up and off?

Dont twist, if there are splines inside it will snap them and the original knob will not be re-usable unless filled with epoxy (like my F250 is) and pushed back on, put something under it that can surround the base as much as possible and try to hammer it straight off vertically. Chances are though it will break, its usually just a plastic ball inside which doesnt take kindly to violence :p
