There are kits for radio adapters, at auto parts stores, special order, or through Internet. For your case, it is possible that you'll need a part from a wrecking yard or through Ebay (good source for stuff like this). And B2200 and B2000 trucks use same bracket as B2600, more of those around. I bought an adapter kit for my B2200 back in 1994, works great. I didn't buy a wire adapter set though, soldered mine in.

thats the thing, i can't find any on ebay and the junk yard cars are all picked appart, maybe i'll keep trying. will the aftermarket radio bolt to the stock bracket or do i have to get the aftermarket fit kit? also, do you have a pic of what the bracket looks like? mazda sent me page with a bunch of parts on it but i can't tell whats what.

I did this in 1994, replaced the original B2200 AM-FM stereo with an AM-FM-cassette deck (don't laugh, it still works). I used the adapter kit MAZ-K852 kit from a local store, manufactured by American International Pacific Industries Corporation in Camarillo California 93012, such as shown here http://www.audio-discounters.com/mazk852.html . It came with a bunch of parts and brackets, including the block-off shown below the unit, I believe. Here's a photo of my installation.

thank you very much for the help. i have a "cubby" under the radio right now and i would like to keep it there but i might be able to modify that bracket to work. what holds the readio in place? i'm guessing that bracket mounts to the trim panel with 4 screws then the radio mounts to the bracket with supplied hardware?

and don't feel bad about getting a tape deck, i was also looking for one, lol. i just happened to find a cheap cd player.
