Default No Electrical Power...?

Hello all,

I just purchased a 2000 Mazda B2500, and did a complete tune up with plugs and wires and cleaned everything. I just got in to start it, and it cranked for a second and *pop*. Now I've got nothing. No power to anything interior. I checked the main 125amp mega fuse at the power distribution amp, no power there, but the fuse isn't bad. I also have power at the starter. I've seen mention of a fusible link somewhere inline, but I don't know what it looks like or where to start looking. Is there any other fuse or possible culprit? I can't see any visble burn marks on anything, nor did I smell any burning at all. Just a pop. Thanks for the help!

Check battery voltage on the battery terminals themselves. Now check voltage on the clamps of the battery cables. Check voltage at that large fuse to good ground. Remove, clean, re-install the battery terminals.

Lol! That's exactly what I did. It was strange. 12+ volts at the terminals, 4 volts at the cables connected to the terminals. I cleaned everything, and now it's running great. Funny - The connections looked great beforehand. Oh, well - they look new now!

Thanks for all the help!
