front inner bearing help needed

1 Attachment(s)
Evening gents. I recently discovered that there was an awful problem going on in my front driveline. I took apart the front drivers side and upon pulling off the rotor, it threw up ball bearings in my lap as the inner bearing had been destroyed. Got a new race pressed into the rotor and went to reinstall and it will not slide onto the spindle far enough. I'm assuming that the old part of the bearing has fused itself onto the spindle as a flathead and hammer will not make it budge; but i wanted to make sure that it isn't supposed to be there before i start resorting to violence and brute force. Is this the case?

That is the inner race of the inner bearing.
From the heat discoloration, you may want to go to a junkyard and get a new spindle/knuckle and swap it out.

Even if you get the old race off, you have a good chance of it being chewed up under it and the new bearing will not have a good seat.
