Yes, clutch master (and brake master cylinder) can have internal leak, which would not be visible.

Got it thanks.

With you three helping me I believe I’m getting just about the best advice a person can get regarding the B trucks.

With regard to the slave cylinder, how many internal seals are there? Not including the outer dust boot.

It is thoughtful it is the slave cylinder from one of your previous posts about hold pressure?
The seals number depends on the re-builder or the new manufacture of the slave cylinder you are using.

Over 25 years ago I rebuilt the clutch slave on mine; even though I used a hone, didn't last that long. Check out this video though, will answer your question.

I asked Mazda Mitch (creator of the above videos and owner of a Facebook B-truck site) about your 1/2" of clutch fork travel. He responded: "It should move more than that, but I'll bet his slave is not pushing enough, because it needs replaced"

Somewhere along the line the return spring on the clutch pedal fell off. I suppose we should source another one. There are two electric switches associated with the clutch pedal assembly. I know the lower one (engaged when pedal is pressed fully to floor) is to prevent the engine from cranking unless the pedal is down. What it the upper one for? The one that engages when the clutch is all the way up.
