Clutch problem plz help
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.maz...216e58d66f.png Hey guys just bought this car I'm gonna pick it up in 2 days. But the guy I got it from reckons clutch has gone in it. He says I can drive it I just gotta start it in gear and drive it home without clutch he says if u put the clutch in nothing happens it's a 1997 Mazda b2600 petrol 4x4 |
What country are you in? Anyway, the Japanese-made B2600i was last sold in USA in 1993, but continued on in worldwide (I'm saying you are fortunate).
Anyway first explore the clutch master and clutch slave cylinders, they seem to malfunction every few years on these trucks. Have a helper push down the clutch pedal a few times and go underneath and look at the little arm on the side of the transmission, see if the hydraulics make that arm move about 12mm each time the pedal is pushed down. Typically, when the clutch itself wears out, the truck will not drive, just will rev up in each gear when you try to drive out. But one can change the gear position then. |
Cheers mate,
If it is the slave cylinder or clutch master would i have to replace them or is there another way to fix them and im australian |
And how can i tell whether it clutch master or slave cylinder

I should mention that there are two small flexible lines in the system too, so make sure those are not cracked or leaking (I have replaced both on my own B2200). On my B2200, I generally replace BOTH at the time of a failure, and recommend biting the bullet and getting these from the dealer, or getting these with lifetime warranties (if available in your country) !!! And bleed out all the old fluid and replace with new. |
No worries and thank you
very helpful |
Hey Cusser just curious mate if I replace both slave cylinder and clutch master and nothing changes does that mean it's the pressure plate |
