b2600 carb help

I've got an 87 2600 that had the weber on it, and it drove like crap (low power, 12-15mpg) even after a carb rebuild. I got the original carb on ebay for $50, but holy crap there's alot of vacuum lilnes - the diagram on the hood and the Haynes manual are no help -anybody have a oicture of their carb or any idea where I could find a better diagram? Thanks - Greg

what you need to do is go to the weber website and request a tuning manual for that specific carb. I promise you if tuned correctly you will get substantial more power and better gas mileage than with the stocker. I have a .380 weber and get great power and fuel effeciency.

Did that - got the rebuild kit, etc - it went up from 12 to 15, maybe 16 or so on the highway. But from what I hear, the original carbs were crap, so I'm going to switch it back the the weber and live with it while I finish my diesel rabbit and get 50 mpg while going just as fast....

RE: b2600 carb help

What kind of Weber do you have on it? If you have the 38, that's ALOT of carb for a stock engine. You'll run VERY rich and be doggy on top of fouling out plugs. The 32/36 carb would be best for MOST engines. Let me know what you have and we can go from there.
BTW, with my Weber 38 and stock tires I get about 16-18mpg and with my 35's on it's between 12-14mpg (and that's with ALOT of tire).
