95 b3000 3 litre with lifter knock
 

I have replaced the engine in my truck with a rebuilt long block and have had a ticking noise since the first time I started if and figure it is probably the lifter adjustment. I'm wondering is there a way to adjust this maybe with sims under the rocker bolt to take the lash out. I'm not sure what to do since all valve train components are new and the engine was built by a reputal company

Even new parts have a chance of being faulty. Especially since most everything is made in China now. I'm afraid you just got a bad lifter.
