OK. Believe we've got it. Pulled what they're calling the slow fuel cut solenoid, put 12v to it and no click. Went to junkyard and got one, float level holding steady, purring like a kitten. So I guess the weber conversion on both my vehicles is to wait for another day. These feedback carburators are finicky, nothing simple about them, but hey, working now. One more question; any tips on getting the mixture adjusted without a dwell meter? Thanks again for all your help. Dit.

 

I am very glad you got it fixed!!! I think the mixture is also controlled by a solenoid and cant be changed very easy at all. These feedback carbs were horrible for modding or adjusting, had one on my '84 Ranger 2.8 V6.

 

Dwell meter is for points. Use a vacuum guage, I'd suggest you research what "hg you should have at what rpm. I have an old oldsmobile that runs with points, and a 2 barrel. It pulls about 19" hg at 750 rpm, you particular engine I don't know just giving you an example. Glad you fixed it, oh, and thanks for posting.
