87 626 swap

First post gentlemen................ I have 86 B2000 with defunct engine........... I also have in my possession an 87 626 fuel injected 2.0 .......other than distibuter almost going against the firewall instead of in the front {transverse frontwheel drive 626} and changing the oil pickup and pan...........what else am I up against? Kyasyris {sounds greek >smile<} or anyone else knowledgeable on this topic please enlighten as I am wholly ignorant. I have only rebuilt american V-8's

Kind Regards Ken

RE: 87 626 swap

First of all, will it even bolt up to your tranny?
Is the intake and everything orientated so that it will be facing the front of the truck once it's made into a RWD engine?
You'll have to convert to an EFI fuel system to run it. Possibly could just use everything from the 626.

Those are just 3 things that come to mind right off the bat.

You can make anything work if you want it bad enough... (and got the cash) All it takes is a cutting torch and a welder... LoL But hoprfully the motor will bolt up to the tranmission... convert the EFI system, (whole wiring harness) into the truck.. Just an idea..
