Your welcome dude it's been a learning experience for me. I tried holding out for the aluminum radiator to be back in stock but I figure the brass one can be repaired on the road.i plan on traveling in my truck.

It is lol I know part of me wants big american luxo barge but I'm too tall last time I traveled it was in a 90 Cutlass ciera and laying across the front seat got a little bit cramped. Plus starter died fuel injector went out lol 🤣 lots of lessons learned on what vehicle is perfect for never being stranded. And I'm putting an rx7 gearset in it for better gas mileage. How would I go about starting a thread on my build just Jerry c's build or Start a thread in a certain spot?

I finally got the CSF 2 row radiator
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.maz...7d020e0c3f.jpg . I will install it today will update you with the results. |
I installed the new radiator and still it overheats. I replaced the coolant and let it idle for about 45 minutes with the rad cap off. I rocked the truck side to side occasionally while it was idling to let the bubbles out, but still it goes past the halfway mark on the temperature gauge. However, I did notice that lower radiator hose is actually cool to the touch while with old radiator it was lukewarm, so I think the CSF is doing a better job at cooling. I think I will let it be for now untill I get some funds to take it to a shop where they can do a coolant system flush. Im thinking maybe a small hose somewhere got clogged? Here are some pictures:

Hey Cusser, this is a swapped gauge cluster from a different truck. This whole truck is a frankenmazda haha. It's a 86 b2000 with 92 B2200 wire harness and EFI swap. Maybe thats the problem?
When I had an old radiator in the truck, it would sometimes go up the letter H and sit there, so hopefully, with the new radiator it doesn't go up that high. I swapped sending units before and it showed the same results. Maybe I'm just over stressing it and should leave it alone at this point. |
Hmmm - when you changed to an electric fan, did you keep the fan shroud? Or are you running without one? Fan shroud is important.
|
I had a shroud when I was using an electric fan. I'm using the stock clutch fan with a stock shroud now.
