I run 35" Thornbirds (HEAVY) with 4.44 gears and a few engine mods. In 1st and 2nd gear, it's pretty peppy, 3rd gear dies out a little, 4th is alright on flat ground and 5th is useless even downhill.
My truck, with it's mods and 35's, is faster than my buddy's 87 that's stock w/ 31's. I have a 3" body lift, twisted torsion bars and major fender chopping. I have some very minor frame rub at left lock, none at right lock. It eats front end parts for breakfast...
