2002 B2500TD 4x4 indicator light
Recently bought the truck for my daughter.
When we bought it they said that the RFW won't disengage, since the 4x4 light won't go off, regardless of what position the leveler is in.
The RFW light won't come off as well.
The seller had changed the gearbox and i assume the transfer case as well, probably they swapped the whole "package".
The issue occured after the swap.
If I don't misremember they said the gear/tranny was from an older B2500.
I've troblueshooting with no success using the Service Manual for Mazda/Ford.
This is what i've done so far..
Swapped the vaccumhoses at the acctuators for RFW, and by doing that the RFW disengaged and RFW light goes out.
Swapped cables from the switches on the tranny - No luck.
Tested another 4x4 switch - No luck
Measured resistance on the switches off vehicle - OK
Measured resistance with switches mounted and moved shift leveler - seemed strange since I didn't get any resistance.
Disconnected all connectors from the tranny except RFW - 4x4 light still on.
Short circuit the 4x4/neutral switches connectors from the truck - 4x4 light goes off, but RFW won't disengage.
Checked and measured RFW-module using troubleshooting help from my book - Seems OK
Does anyone have a tip for what to do next ?
Greetings

Update
Been measuring the connector to the RFW control module and by using the guide I found out that nothing happens when I move the 4x4 leveler.
According to the guide the 4x4 switch and Neutral switch is ''OFF'' (B+ on connector) all the time.
But when I connected a switch ''outside'' of the tranny and pressed it, it seemed to work as it should (Below 0,5V on connector)
So, can the problem be inside the tranny ? (4x4/LO engage works fine mechanicly)
Also the signal to the Lock/Free soleniods are now ''OFF'' all the time, which cannot be right.
No mather if I press the RFW main switch, nothing happens except that the signal from main switch to control module works as it should.
When I first started to look into the problem, the Lock solenoid was always ''ON''.
Maybe the problem can be with the RFW control module ?
