1993 B2600. Power loss at around 3k on Petrol but not on LPG

Hey Guys,

Just bought a B2600 but it seems the seller slipped something passed me. It runs fine on LPG but on Petrol (Sorry for using Aussie fuel terms but LPG = Gas here so that would just get confusing for this thread).

So, runs fine on LPG but when I switch to Petrol, which would normally offer more power in a dual fuel car, there is massive power loss around 3k rpm and it really struggles to hit 100kmph.

When I hit the dead spot, if I back off the accelerator until I'm barely pressing it I get some acceleration and the car runs fine, until I hit the max speed for barely pressing, then I can't go any faster.... really ticks of the cars following me onto the HWY as I slowly try to get up to speed.

I haven't checked fuel pump and filter yet, as I have only just bought it. But I see a lot of posts on here saying the filter and pump have been replaced and still having starting\running problems.

Any other areas I should look when I start digging?

Peace

Ed

ok, LPG= liquified petroleum gas. Petrol= gasoline? Is there a petrol fuel regulator on this thing?

Sure: how about the ignition system? LPG is a very clean fuel and ignites easily. Those plugs, wires, rotor and distributor cap may all be marginal for igniting the petrol.

Also look for vacuum leaks.
