1988 B2200 Ignition will not turn
I got a 1988 Mazda B2200 5 Speed, yesterday in the morning i was able to turn the ignition, but it seem to of stuck on the "start" position, so no problem i just moved it that tiny bit to "on" and it didnt make a noise. Later on when i went to get out of the car the key turned extremely hard and basically stopped at "accessory". I could start the truck again, but it was not easy. I was afraid to break the key off, but i was able to turn it back and get the key out. Now it turns even harder, and its basically not possible to turn the ignition even to 'accessory'. Is this an easy fix?
Ignition switches are a weak spot on these trucks as they age. You'll need to isolate whether the issue is the ignition tumbler (not as common) or the electrical portion (quite common). I've had to replace the electrical portion on mine, about 12 years ago. Not too tough.
