1987 b2200 rattling engine

I have owned my 1987 mazda b2200 for 2 years and has been basically problem free except for the master and slave clutch cylinders which we corresponded about before. Well just yesterday my engine statred to make strange sounds when i pressed down on the accerator, with a little loss of power. I made it to work 12 miles away but on the way back the noise was worse and it seems I have lost power. It sounds more like a bearing than a ring. It was supposedly rebuilt 30,000 miles ago. and truly it has been running great with absolutely no trouble or tuning problems. What do you think this could be and whether it is worth fixing an old truck if the cost is high. A guy in craigslist is parting out and old exact replica of mine and will sell be the engine for $200. tell me what you think. I paid $1000 for it two years ago.

Hey

Hey from the sounds of it you did what i did spun a rod baring. i have a 86 mazda 2000 and i spun one almost a year ago and i am still looking for parts but you would be better off getting the other engine for it cuz so far its going to cost me like 600.00 to get all the parts for it. but i had the same problem

B2200

Had a compression check and two cylinders were at 0 so with a camera we saw anti freeze so looks like a leaky head gasket!!!
Are they hard to change? Shop wants 600 dollars labor!
